From the Wurstelprater to the Opera, from Hermann Leopoldi to Arnold Schönberg: listen to and explore Vienna’s sounding past.In a recently presented online project, the Austrian Mediathek created a historical sound map of Vienna, localizing more than 300 historical sounds at their specific places on the Vienna City map. Curated by the historian Georg Traska, oral history interviews, radio recordings, music and historical speeches returned to the places where they were recorded, composed, performed or where they refer to.
